Sha sha shovel ready!

Don't you just LOVE all the shovel ready projects plugging up all the interstates of the United States right now? I certainly do. They allow us fellow Americanos to really sit back and smell the new tar radiating off the free way.

I suppose it really isn't that terrible. I never really appreciated the beauty of the countryside until lately. Vibrant fields, subtle hills, antique barns, wind breaks comprising of many varieties of trees, and wildflowers are displayed along a lot of I-80 and I- 35. Moving from a big city to a small town surrounded by agriculture, I hope I'll learn more about the farming industry. It's something I realized I'm very ignorant about.

As a bright red Corvette zipped by me today, I began to wonder; Do racecar drivers have trouble obeying the speed limit? I have never personally met a Nascar driver to ask, however, I bet they would have problems on following the speeding laws.

We arrived in Minneapolis safe and starving. Downtown has so many damn one way streets it was sooo difficult to get to where I wanted to go. Being born someplace doesn't mean you can navigate through it. Plus places, streets, and routes change as time moves on. Eventhough she's lived here before, Grandmother had a bit of a hard time directing us today because of all the changes.

Since we filled up the gas tank every time is was half full, we stopped about four times. FUTURE OUT OF STATE STUDENTS PAY ATTENTION. Going out of state is expensive, you but you already know that. However, it's pretty pricey even if you have a full scholarship. Let me tell you why. You have to travel back and forth from your hometown to your dream college. Not only do you travel just when you're first moving, no. During a month long Christmas break you do. Visiting during Spring break. Every summer. Plus, your car is burdened with all your material things. This means bad gas mileage. If your car is older and has trouble along the way, you have to pay to fix that. You need money to buy all the things you forget at home. If it's something that's unique and you absolutely need, it costs money to ship it to you from home.

Save up your money. Send out graduation announcements (BTW make your own on photoshop or whatevever, it's hundreds of dollars cheaper). Apply for as many scholarships as you can. Make sure you have tons of volunteer hours, clubs, and/or activities to put on the applications for those scholarships. Be savvy.

The hotel offers warm, delicious, chocolate chip cookies tonight. I must go get some!
